Hey Ali, done, and its a lovely pattern, really clear. I like the way the petals are raised due to crocheting in the back of hte previous round, fab idea, and thanks for a lovely flower!

I hope to learn to crotchet properly one day! Your photo is beautiful. Lovely craftmanship!

Lovely flower pattern... look great on a crocheted/knitted hat or one of those skinny, twisty scarves. I like the look of that yarn too.

Hi Ali
Can't wait to make this flower! Also new to crochet. In R5 & R7what is the 'tr' in uk terms?
Thanks

Hi there MamaSew - tr in the US (which I've just realised I should probably have written trc!) is the same as our dtr (double treble) - the stitch where you wrap your yarn round the hook twice before you insert under the next stitch. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks Ali,
I just finished the flower this morning. For the final set of petals I just did a treble crochet. It looks ok but just not the same as yours so I will definately be trying it again with the double treble. Thanks again Shirlie

Those UK/USA different terms can be an absolute menace Shirlie - I'm always getting confused!

Hello, I couldn't find a link to e-mail you at, so I thought I would just comment. I posted a link today on my blog with the pattern to your flower, which I absolutely love. I have been making quite a few of them and will feature them in their own post hopefully next week. If you have an e-mail address that you don't mind giving me, I would appreciate it.

Hi! I am a beginner crocheter who just graduated from plain, flat works and is learning to make things like flowers and amigurumi.
I love this pattern but I have a problem with Row 6. I don't know what the 'fist post' of the first petal is.
I have finished the flower and it doesn't look all right, apparently because I have started that row in the wrong place. Could you please explain?
Thank you in advance :) This is a lovely pattern.

Hi there Seeker, thanks for your enthusiasm for my pattern. It's so hard to explain what I mean without showing you how to do it in person! I can understand that it is very difficult for a beginner. I will give it a bit of thought and get back to you with some help. Ali xx
